Our second coffee is from Nicaragua, which we were able to source with the help of our friends at Gold Mountain Coffee Growers. This delicious coffee comes from farmer Josefina and Mario Gonzalez. With the help of their seven children, they handpick the ripe cherries from their farm El Divino Nino which they have owned since 1985. Once they have finished hand-picking the cherries they then remove them from their farm by horseback due to its remote location.
The Nicaragua El Divino Nino is a beautiful expression of what we love in coffees from the Jinotega region. In the cup we are welcomed by a combination of fresh yellow peaches and a white grape acidity. The El Divino Nino is a medium-bodied with a juicy mouthfeel that is great for someone looking for an approachable single-origin coffee.
